Good idea.

I also saved the picture and open it in Photoshop, which gives the zooming option if I need to see details on where I am going.

Double Woot!!! on BF42. The greatest game of all time. BF2 is very good, but not as good as 42. I really want to do more PVP in GW but have found the learning curve very difficult; i.e., my team is getting its but handed to them in 4v4 at Droknors. Why even bother with 8v8 if you can't compete in 4v4? Plus, as a W/MO, it takes too long to get an invite to a party.

er. wtf.

where did a post about pvp come from?

anyway, back to the map. its nearly done. ive stuck on a co-ordinate display and scroll bars (the display only works with the scroll bars atm, the buttons do nothing to it ). but mooman managed to create the biggest anti-christ of a JPG ive ever found and the maximum allowed length of a scrollbar, only scrolls about a tenth of the map. i try anymore with multiplying etc, it goes "OMGOMGOMG NONONO OVERFLOW WTF DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE" then proceeds to bring up like 20 error messages and then gives explorer a good kick in the nuts.

BALLS TO IT. ive ripped off the coordinate display and decided to use the scroll bars for fine tracking movement.

all thats left is the credits. and finding someone to actually host it.

**EDIT** oh i see you mean the jpgs. if you really want to see them, theyre actually for an earlier post i made expressing my discontent at the 60k female gladiator armour looking about as aesthetically pleasing as a gunshot wound.

Heh that armor is hot enough to give elementalists a run for their money

Yeah I was just playing about the gay porn, didn't notice the movie until you mentioned it

The hot coffee thing is just sad - the point is they know lots of 12 years old are gonna get the game and 17 year olds wouldn't be that amused by it anyways. Heh I don;t wanna hijack this thread and make it about Hot Coffee that could be a thread on its own.

possbly. but all this aside.

IVE FINISHED MY FIRST VERSION. turns out the map mirrors went back up a few minutes ago so ive added the credits, and completely taken away the scroll bars because they cause more problems than they solve, a LOT more.

all i need now is someone to host it. if anyone knows anyone with tons of bandwidth to spare, let me know. or if you yourself can host it.

currently id like a handful of people to try it out for me, if you want to. send me a PM with your email adress and ill email you the program. its 4.8MB so make sure your email adress can handle it, though hotmail should work fine. if youre one of the few that test it, please send me feedback on it. like a beta, i suppose

<<Start of merged thread>>

finished. woot. for those who dont know, find my other thread.

now, i need testers. people who will test out a bit and then send me back some feedback. if you want to test, PM me an email adress so i can email you the viewer. the filesize is 5mb so make sure your email can handle attachments that big.

more importantly, i need hosting. me being poor i have no way of hosting this file so if you cn help me on this, or know someone who can. PM me or post here etc. let me know.

wootootles. hit me with a PM and give me your details and crap so i can send you everything when the time comes to release it. everything is pretty much done, im just waiting for a couple of volenteers to give me some feedback before i let it out. incase its got some uber-bug in it that i dont see on my PC.

btw, if you did host it youd get you're own thanks textbox like TGH gets on the front. assuming you have a website to go with the mindless amounts of bandwidth. but thats probably a stupid assumption.

Well yeah http://www.cheap-web-site-hosting.co...nux/linux.html it's the last plan down the line, so I think I'd be fine, as long as I don't get like 2000 people downloading the prog in one month n_n. Email's in the profile cause I hardly got anything to hide.

well, ive had a couple of emails back from testers and apart for a few little niggles its fine for release. in all fairness, the program is about as simple as its gets, so theres not really much that can go wrong with it. all i really need is to find a way to let it out to the public now.

There's no point to having two threads at the very same time on the very same topic. Merged.

Of course... if you would really like to look at a map at anytime and want a program for it you could always go here:

http://www.gwfreaks.com/Download.aspx

and download the skill builder... I believe it comes with the exact same map. You enter all your characters skills... as well as the skills of other people in your group/guild/whatever. The program also gives you a pretty complete listing of all the skills in the game, where to find them and what they do.

Might be worth a look...

Seriously, I'm looking forward to that viewer!

you assume that folder is for me, you cant see the "dirty dancing sountrack", "the big bopper", and other random 50-80's music. both my brother and mother just inherited mp3 players. go figure.

ANYWAY. im about to go email the guy who offered me the hosting and about to send him the viewer and organise stuff. so it should be out in a day or two. as soon as i get an update or a link ill release it as soon as. i may even make a website to put it around. i can always learn html. i think. cant be that hard.

....and again wth the "gwfreaks" thing. i even put this in my first post that the whole point of the viewer is for people who DONT want all that crap in the program, they just want nothing but a simple map. thats it. this is intended for those who like no frills, 56kers and other people who would rather not do a 30MB+ download of the .net framework. and people who dont have as much RAM as others and dont like piled-on programs eating MB after MB of RAM. just running the map in IE eats enough on its own.
